Designers and those who thought about design continued to push their different truths, which evolved into rules, standards, styles, and mannerisms. ImaginGraphic - DESIGN HANDBOOKS
Between the 1920's and 30's some designers in Europe and the United States found it delightful to tell other designers how to design. During theses years of Modernism these designers were so sure that they have found the right way to design, they made detail manuals set out to spread their ideas to the world. The two most popular and influential books of their time were, W.A. Dwiggins Layout in Advertising and Jan Tschichold's Die Neue Typographic. They provided different formulas for transcending antiquated commercial art conventions.

Manifestos by Pandora
Provocative pronouncements by groups of artists tend to share one characteristic: they favor stark black-and-white typography. Many manifestos tend to look like ordinary pamphlets.
Diatribe by Filippo Marinetti looked like a plain newspaper article, and was printed in Le Figaro in 1909.
Many manifestos expressed their philosophy using the typographical vocabulary of newspapers, with bold headlines and well-marked paragraphs. One important detail was always the list of signatories. The fact that these texts were endorsed by a group of artists is one reason why their layouts were not more distinctive. Whoever designed the manifestos had to be as neutral as possible.

Team Awesome- Dust Jackets
A dust jacket is a removable cover for a bounded book. Originally dust jackets were plain paper wrappers with cut outs to reveal the title and author of the book. Later on they started to print more designs on the dust jackets for more advertising appeal.
This first picture shows a dust jacket that has a design on it to make it more appealing for sale and protects the book.

This second picture shows a plain dust jacket that is strictly used for protecting the book and would not help advertisment.

Team Ice- Ransom Notes
Ransom Notes got its name from the cliched style of cutout letters intended to hide the identity of the sender. Its roots are from the 19th century, when common job printers carelessly mixed disparate wood and metal type styles together on the same page.
The point of this style is creative unattachable way to send someone a message. This allows people to send letter without having to write it out. This style has transformed into something more than just a ransom note. it is used for cpommercials, art, magazines, and even Ads.

Supreme Geometry by Chanel Flyers
Russian painter Kasimir Malevich is the founder of the art movement Suprematism, and was inspired by Cuban artist and sculptors. Malevich thought that the black square was the perfect icon and used it in much of his work. He felt that he could display different impressions through the interaction of squares, triangles, and circles. Malevich passion for the black square influenced constructivists, the De Stijl neoplasticists such as Zwart, and the Bauhaus minimalists. To this day artists and designers reference his work into their new modernized pieces becuase the black square has yet to go out of style.
