Metaphoric Lettering:

Metaphoric Lettering is using a visual pun to bring a relevance to a printed word. For example, incorporating chopsticks into the name of an Asian Restaurant's name. This style originated in the 1840's by Vincent Figgins.

The words printed are in the shape of a gun, symbolizing war. Each word can be accompanied by war, which could be negative or positive.

This picture uses one image of Jesus across many TV screens, with the word "OBEY" in the background of each. This could be used by Catholics to tell people to obey the religion, or as anti-religious people to say that people need to stop being puppets.

This image shows the word "Nature" covered in things found in nature. Trees, animals, and a rainbow are all associated with nature.
