Pointing a finger is a universal symbol or
gesture that represents a number of things such as
Accusing, Blaming, Directing, Warning,
Challenging. Inviting, and Addressing.
This picture was an experiment from the creator,
he took the photo and brushed it many times, the result looks amazing. The
whole picture displays that whoever is pointing is blaming or challenging
someone else. The interpretation of the pointing can mean anything.
This design was developed to personify the U.S. government. "Uncle
Sam" is drawn out as a hardworking and gritty character. This type of
propaganda is used to engage "strong" followership within
individuals.
On the other side of things, pointing fingers
doesn't always mean putting blame on or choosing someone. It doesn't always
have to be demanding or seem dominating. This image is simply someone showing
how to use a design program. Here the pointing finger is simply just drawing on
an ipad. A pointing finger can be used to trace things, or just show different
things to someone.
