Naive Mascots - also known as " Trade characters " are people, characters, and animals that are used in advertising and are identified with the products. During the 19th century , words were preferred to the pictures in advertising. However, as the reproduction of images became cheaper, businesses that had relied solely on brand names and clever slogans sought new visual icons.
Older pictorial trade characters evolved into contemporary logos. To gain the publics trust , industry turned to signs and symbols.
