David Byrne’s
point in this article is that all music is written to be played in a specific
venue. They all sound great in their venue, but they wouldn’t sound as great in
a different genre’s venue. For example a rock concert sounds amazing in a
stadium or arena, but if a symphony played there it would not sound as good as
if they were playing in a symphony hall. This completely makes sense because
all music is different in they way that it is written, played, performed, and
expressed. David Byrne makes a valid point in this article about it is more
than writing and playing music. It is all about the venue.
1.) I will wait by Mumford and Sons- this is a folky type of music would be for music halls.
2.) Jai Ho by A. R. Rahman- this is a middle eastern genre of music.
3.) Time to say goodbye by Andrea Bocelli- opera sounds best in an open music hall rather then an outdoor venue.
4.) Four Seasons: Spring by Vivaldi- this type of symphony music is played in a symphony hall.
5.) Surfin' in the USA by The Beach Boys is meant for and outdoor bowl, it is a more laid back style of music.
6.) Paisa by Selina- is a lating dance up beat style of music
7.) Live and Let Die by Guns n' Roses- this style of rock music would be played in the CBGB club depicted in Byrnes article.
8.)New York, New York by Frank Sinatra- is an old deep music with brass instruments and pianos.
9.) Changes by 2pac- hip hop that is meant for an arena or stadium.
10.) Oh Africa by Akon- is a concert type of music.
11.) The soundtrack of Pirates of the Caribbean- Sound best recorded.
12.) Crave You by Flight Facilities- A song that is more popular recorded than live.
13.) Wobble by V.I.C- is maily heard in clubs and bars.
14.) At Last by Etta James- A very powerful vocal that can be played at many venues and still sound the same.
